To Reduce Your Chances Of GastroIntestinal Diseases
Our stomach health is one part of our body that we usually neglect until we have a problem with it. Having a poor stomach or digestion can cause many health related issues like nausea, vomiting, stomach ulcers and in worse case, stomach cancer. As a victim of these problems, I would like to share with you some useful tips how you can maintain a healthy digestive system.
First of all, quite obviously you need to learn how to watch your diet and eat well. Most people know the right types of food to eat but not "how" to eat them well. Remember once your parents kept telling you to chew your food well before you swallow them has a world of truth behind. As it is the first process of food digestion process, we should always chew our food properly and if possible, mix with our saliva to make it semi-solid or watery before swallowing down our throat. As the food travels down into our stomach, our stomach will not have to work so hard or produce more acid to further digest the food.
Next, you should try to eat slower to allow your stomach to digest your food more efficiently and according to a study, it will take a human brain to realize that you have eaten full after 20 minutes. By eating quickly will allow more air into your stomach thus resulting in more smelly and frequent belching (burps).
Thirdly, you should reduce your intake on citrus fruits or juices (highly acid), coffee (caffeine), alcohol (damage your stomach tissues) and soda. Stay away from milk or dairy products if you are a lactose-intolerant person. Eating a high in fiber diet and taking probiotics will help in your digestion as well as your bowel movements.
Last but not least, you should drink lots of water every day (minimum 8 glasses each day) as it helps in your digestion and good for our intestinal tract. Engaging in some form of daily exercises (especially cardio exercises) helps to regulate your appetite and improves the movements of food in your intestines too. This will help to prevent constipation or other intestinal problems too.
With a healthier stomach, you will see a change in the quality of your life greatly since you are suffering lesser. Know to take care of your health well and remember to share with people around you especially your loved ones makes you a better person.
